Preparing the competing values leadership profile of short track speed skating coaches and analyzing their types to present the property, this study intends to cultivate efficient coaches who are well aware of their merit and demerit as well as to provide right information to improve the competence of short track skaters. The object of this study is composed of 70 incumbent short track speed skaters belonging to 9 teams in the male and female high school, university and company. For measuring tool, CVLQS (Competing Values Leadership Scale for Sport) developed by Ha Hyoung Ju (1996) was used as standardized scale with verified reliability and feasibility. To analyze the data, I prepared profile by calculating the standard mark (Z mark)of role of each coach for relative evaluation. Then, correspondent sample T verification was performed to check the dependence between roles. Performing T verification and mono dispersion analysis to analyze the difference in the type of coach leadership as per property of skaters, I drew following conclusion. 1) While the Z mark of leadership profile of short track coaches shows value higher than normal distribution in all 6 role factors, meaningful and ideal profile are shown while supplementation and equivalence are maintained among wholly correspondent roles. While planned performance role and creative study role are turned out to be quite high in the leadership dependence of coaches, the arbitral spokesman role are shown to be relatively deficient compared to other factors. 2) Though there was no significant difference statistically in the leadership of coaches as per the sex of skaters. 3) When it comes to the difference in leadership of coaches as per the period during which skaters and coaches are in the same team, the skaters with period of 23~60 months show statistically significant difference in the absolute instruction role of coaches rather than those with period of 8~22 months.
