Water is a major issue with climate change in the 21st century. Continuous growth of urban population in Asian cities presents opportunities as well as challenges on how to provide basic water and sanitation needs and further how to develop sustainable water infrastructures for future. Historical review suggests there are many choices to take into consideration depending on the local conditions. Decentralized systems would be more used to overcome the limitations of the centralized systems both for water and sewage. Sea water and treated effluent can be alternative water sources. Continuous efforts will be expected for reducing the demand of electricity from water cycles. To relive severe storms created by climate change, natural drainage systems which give soft and slow conveyance are to be more desirable than the hard surface and fast conveyance system. The sustainable aquapolis should be such an attractive place where people can have dream for future and people can be relaxed peacefully with nature.
