Nature as a Light of Transcendence: The Ecological Theology of S. McFague Based on the Incarnational Spirituality

본 논문은 생태여성주의 시각에서 가장 많은 저작활동을 해온 셀리 맥페이그의 최근작『기후변화와 신학의 재구성』을 비판적으로 분석하고 정리한 글이다. 필자는 심각한 기후변화가 기독교의 초월신관 대신 자연을 신적 몸으로 보는 범재신론을 필요로 한다는 저자의 논지를 긍정하되 비판적 논지를 개진했다. 기후변화 내지 기후붕괴의 상황이 신학 자체를 재구성하도록 했다는 시각은 이제 더 이상 새롭지 않다. 초월의 초월을 이땅(지구)으로 보는 성육신적 영성은 삼라만상과의 교감과 사귐을 예배로 의미화 할 수 있게 된 것이다. 당면한 환경문제의 실상을 맞서 싸워야 할 '나찌즘'으로 규정할 만큼 저자의 생태신학은 실천성을 담보하고 있다.

This article tries to analyze critically the recent book of the eco-feminist theologian Sallie McFague, New Climate for Theology, God, the World and Global Warming, Here I have strongly backed up the McFague's theological position that global warming asks urgently panentheism instead of supernatural theism. This position is actually not new, but so urgent that theology has to be reconstructed according to this ecological wiew. In this article I made efforts to bring to light the incamational spirituality which stresses on the earth in the sense of the 'transcending of transcendence'. In terms of this spirituality, I argue that our daily communion with nature itself can be a meaning of godly warship. So we can agree with McFague's practical suggestion that today's ecological crisis has to be regarded as a new 'nazi(sm)' which we must overcome.
