Issues and Prospect of Korean Automobile Industry: New Product Development and Technology Strategy Sang-Gon Lee This paper stars with describing current situation of world automobile market rapidly changing and introduces the future prediction of how the major compa- nies will conduct their globla management. The paper explains the geo-economic importance of Korea in that she is hte starting poing of 'Asian Belt' of huge demand potential for automobile growing in China and expanding through Southeast Asia and even further to India Then it suggests Korean automobile companies to take appropriate actions for the market strategy to cope with dynamics seen in the regional market of Asia and in the world With regard to the strategy, Korean companies are recommonded to learn Japanese experiences in improvement f organizational productivity and to quickly adopt advanced informantion technology of America and Europe for automobile manufacturing It is also described that various advanced technologies have been recently developed in rapid phase in major developed countires and that some of those ard now of practical use
