학교장의 변혁적 지도성이 사교육비에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Transformational Leadership on Private Education Expenditure

이 논문에서는 학교장의 변혁적 지도성이 사교육비지출을 감소시키는지 에 대하여 한국교육개발원의 한국교육종단조사 3차년도 자료를 이용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 분석방법으로는 위계선형모형과 토빗모형을 이용하였 다. 분석결과 위계선형모형을 통하여 학생배경변인과 학교변인을 통제한 후 에는 학교장 변혁적 지도성 변인이 통계적으로 유의하지 않게 나타났다. 그 러나 계수의 절대값의 크기가 크고 음의 값을 갖고 있어서 변혁적 지도성이 사교육비를 감소시킬 수 있는 가능성을 보여주고 있었다. 토빗모형을 통한 분석결과에서는 변혁적 지도성 변인이 최종모형을 제외한 모든 모형에서 통계적으로 유의하게 나타나고 있었다. 따라서 제한적으로(Marginally) 변 혁적 지도성이 사교육비 감소에 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있으며 향후 후 속연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다. 한편 기존 사교육비 지출요인 연구들과 마 찬가지로 학생의 경제적 배경과 학업성적이 높을 경우 사교육비 지출이 증 가하고 있었다. 그리고 교사열의 변인은 사교육비 지출을 감소시키는 것으 로 나타나 학교교육에서 교사의 열의를 증진시켜 학생들의 사교육비 지출 을 일정정도 억제할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This article analyzed Korean Educational Longitudinal Study(KELS) data in order to investigate whether principal's transformational leadership diminish students' private education expenditure. Analysis using hierarchical linear model shows that transformational leadership decrease private education expenditure significantly in the simple model. However, the significance disappear in the full model. Transformational leadership significantly diminishes private education expenditure in tobit model except for full model. Thus, principal's transformational leadership decreases students' private expenditure marginally and further investigation is necessary. And students' economic background and achievement level have positive effects on private education expenditure. Teachers' moral decreases private education expenditure.
