This study examines the use of logical markers in Korean-Arabic literary translation through short novel "guest and mother" Typical conjunctions wa(roughly "and"), fa(roughly 'because'), lakin('but'), kamaa(roughly 'also'/ in addition') and thumma('and then') Conjunction as logical marker signals the way the writer wants the reader to relate what is about to be sand to what has been said before Logical markers express one of a small number of general relations The most frequently used logical markers in Arabic translated text are 'wa' Between the sentences or above sentences, typical logical maker 'wa' are added to a translation to make it smoother for contributing to coherence in text, even when no logical markers are used in the source text in Korean The translator does in practice, to strike a balance between accuracy and naturalness At the level of cohesion, naturalness enhanced by using typical Arabic logical makers such as wa, fa, lakin, kamaa, and thumma
