The purpose of this study was to evaluate students' perception on quality attribute of highschool dormitory foodservice operations and to propose the way of improvement in school foodservice. 18 high schools which operates school dormitory food service in Chungbuk province were selected, and 540 students and 18 dieticians were investigated for survey. The survey was conducted from June 30, 2008 to July 30, 2008 and 520 copies (96% return rate) was distributed to highschool students at the dormitory and 18 copies was (100% return rate) distributed to the dieticians were collected. SPSS V 12.0 was utilized for statistical analysis. The results of this study were as follows. The importance level of the school foodservice quality was that except food appearance attribute and the attributes included in atmosphere factor, other attributes got more than 4 point out of 5 point. Regarding the performance analysis of the quality 'food appearance', 'menus variety', 'seasonal variation of menus', 'absence of food', 'handling of dissatisfaction', 'waiting time', 'interior decoration', 'quietness and comfort' were under 3 points out of 5 point. In addition, IPA showed that 'food taste', 'menu variety', 'preference on food', 'absence of food', 'sanitation of utensils', 'sanitation of tables with chairs', 'quick distribution of food', 'complaint management' and 'appropriateness of price' were included in focus here area. The average of overall satisfaction was under 3 point out of 5 point. According to multiple regression analysis, 47.7% of the variance in respondents' satisfaction score could be explained by food, menu, sanitation, service, facilities, atmosphere and price.
