녹차의 EtOH 추출물과 중성획분, 산성획분을 이용하여 넙치 에드워드병의 원인균 E. tarda에 대하여 항균활성을 측정하였다. EtOH 추출물과 중성획분 그리고 산성획분을 액체배지에 첨가하여 E. tarda를 10⁷CFU/mL 되게 접종하여 35℃에서 24시간 배양하여 추출한 genomic DNA의 감소로 항균성을 측정하였고, 600 nm에서 흡광도를 측정하여 생육억제활성을 측정하였다. E. tarda에 대한 녹차 추출물의 전체적인 항균력의 크기는 EtOH 추출물>중성획분>산성획분이었으며, EtOH 추출물 1500, 2000 ppm에서 E. tarda의 증식을 효과적으로 저해하였으며, 이에 대한 MIC와 MBC는 1000~2000 ppm 범위에서 측정되었다.
Green tea extract was tested to determine the antimicrobial effects against Paralichthys olivaceus pathogenic bacteria, Edwardsiella tarda. The antimicrobial effect was evaluated by measuring the change of genomic DNA concentration level of E. tarda, which was obtained after treatment of green tea ethanol extract, EtOAc-soluble neutral and acidic solvent-fractionation, respectively. Green tea extract showed the concentration dependent killing against E. tarda, where the green tea extract significantly inhibited the growth of E. tarda in the minimum inhibitory concentration of 1000~2000 ppm and minimum bactericidal concentration of 1500~2000 ppm.
