A Study on the Construction and Operation of Busan Shipping and Port Logistics Cluster

πus study examined existing surveys conducted on the construction and operation of a duster, targeting shipping, port, and logistics companies. Then， This study drew an approach to construct and operate the duster in Busan from the results of the analysis. To construct a cluster in Busan, it is necessary to establish an infra-structure for the cluster, a system of collaboration with cluster related organizations, and a scheme to support and promote the duster. In addition, to properly operate this duster, it is suggested that some programs among participating organizations, joint marketing, training experts, and development of technology should be carried out initially. Moreover, this study listed several details for the approach to construct and operate the duster, and confirmed the importance of details through the Analytic Hierarchy Process. In conclusion, this study tries to suggest how Busan should construct and operate the duster to make shipping and port logistics provide high value, and to come up with a plan to win in tile cut-throat competition as a global logistics hub. the results of this study can be utilized as useful data to make decisions for further policies by firms' in the industry and expert groups' informed judgments for the practical construction and efficient operation of a shipping and port logistics cluster in Busan.
