World War II and Yugoslavia: The Conflicts of the Yugoslavism and the Serbianism

The natures or the types of nationalism, which began to spread in the Eastern Europe and the Balkans after the 19 century, was changed according to the political situations and circumstances of the nations in this area. In the Yugoslav soils nationalism was represented as Yugoslavism and Serbianism. The former is based on Illyrism whose premise consists in that in the united state of the South Slavic peoples such as Serbians, Croatians and Slovenians have an equal political right, and the latter, based on Serbian Nationalism, has aims of expanding the territory and reviving the glorious history of the Serbian Dynasty. In this study the background and origin of Yugoslavism and Serbianism (chapter II) and the processes and the consequences of the ethnic and civil confilcts rooted from these two nationalisms during the Second World War(Chapter III, IV) are analytically viewed.
