Correlation between body satisfaction and body type management behavior by fashion leadership-centering with college female students in certain area-

The purpose of this study was to investigate female college students' body satisfaction and body type management behavior by fashion leadership. The survey was conducted with female students at a university in Gwangju for about two weeks from April 28 to May 10, 2008. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and Duncan's multiple range test. As a result, the mean of general fashion leadership was found to be 3.38. The mean of body satisfaction was found to be 2.94. The mean of general body type management behavior was found to be 1.69. As for differences in body satisfaction according to fashion leadership, the higher fashion leadership, the higher body satisfaction (p<O.OO1). As for correlation among fashion leadership, body satisfaction, and body type management behavior, there was significant positive correlation between fashion leadership and body satisfaction (r=.248, p<O.OO1), while there was no significant correlation with body type management behavior. Correlation between body satisfaction and body type management behavior was also insignificant.
