Above all, the development of public play in Rumania is closely connected with development of Rumanian race. The real development of Rumanian public play is after the Middle Ages. But the plays of primitive form had existed from ancient times. In this thesis, I analyzed performances of various forms that performed at period of Hellenism and the age ruled byRome Empire in ancient Dachia before I go on to analyze about the development of public plays that performed in earnestfrom the Middle Ages. The Greek public performance, being performed in Dobrogea, played at new colonization cities which were built in the Danube and the Black Sea. In the period of rule by Rome Empire, Roman built amphitheater in Dachia and performed public plays. Also they watched fights of gladiators from there. At that time, there were 100 amphitheaters in Rome Empire. They performed various kinds of public plays as well. Interesting fact is that the post of performance program, which played on the amphitheaters, was put up against walls before few days or week. And people paid an admission fee to watch. In addition, this thesis analyzed Rumanian traditional game and customs which regarded the early form of Rumanian public play as dramatic factors in enchantment action, non-religious factors of winter festival, masque, celebration poem for weeding, ancient customs in relation to agriculture, Calusarilor game and Vicleimului game.
