Romanian symbolism and Poetic themes

The aim of this study is to introduce how Romanian symbolism deploys in Romanian literature and how some poets adapt their poetics to the experience of writing poetry based upon symbolical aesthetics and themes. Beginning from the early poems composed under the influence of French symbolism. Romanian symbolistic poets try to recreate the world of autochthonous poetry and come to realize the imaginary world which was to create other world by symbol. suggestion. musical quality and by transforming virtual reality into spiritual reality , Romanian symbolism is introduced for the first time by Alexandru Macedonski through the his literary magazine Literatorul (Literary man. 1880). He cultivates and develops symbolistic theory and practice in his theoretic works as About logics of poetry (880). Art of poems (881). Future poetry (1892) and invents new theory named 'Instrumental symbolism or 'Instrumentalism which emphasize the point of musicality and role of poetic image Poet Ion Minulescu develops an art technique of symbolism through the using of prophetic number ‘3’. exotic naming as Xeres. Babilon. inscription of capital letter and practical use of sound of voice etc. If Minulescu amuse exaggerately himself in the exterior world of expression. George Bacovia want to aspire being's soul in interior world of poem. Bacovia suggests and describes very simply and implicatively his symbolical words like autumn. winter. twilight. death. lead. rain. solitude. silence. corpse. rotting etc. in his poems and sympathizing with verbal sentiments. He always prefers the dark world of death and despair in order to search for the true being (or ego) by way of emphasizing ‘nihil-melancholy’ The fourth chapter. in which was categorized Romanian simbolistic poets' themes into five groups imagy of city. nature. death. problem of love and escapism. discusses that some new themes like image of city have important roles to magnify directions of theme. Art of symbolical poetry , themes and symbolic aesthetics have influence on evolution , expansion of poetic categories and prosperity of posterior generation in Romanian poetic literature
