초중등학교 도덕⋅윤리⋅국사⋅철학 교과서에 나타난 불교 관련 내용의 오류

Errors of Buddhism-related Contents in Moral/Ethical/History/Philosophical Textbooks of Elementary/Middle/High School

이 연구는 초⋅중등학교 바른생활⋅도덕⋅윤리 그리고 역사⋅철학 교과서에 나타난 불교 관련 내용 중에서 기술이 잘못되어 오류가 있거나 종교적으로 편향된 부분을 지적하여, 학교 현장에서 교사들이 학생들을 지도하는데 참고가 되도록 함과 아울러 제8차 교육과정 개편에서는 잘못된 교과서의 문제점이 보완 시정되는 것을 목표로 하였다. 교과서의 내용은 정확하게 최근의 정설을 소개해야 하고, 종교 간의 형평성을 지켜서 한 쪽으로 편향되어서는 안 된다. 특히 교과서 편찬자가 자신의 신앙을 드러내서 선교의 의도를 나타내서는 안 된다. 동양 사상은 형이상학적인 문제를 많이 다루므로 일반인들이 이해하기가 쉽지 않다. 특히 불교 교리는 심오하기 때문에 충분한 이해를 통해서 현대적 용어로 재해석되어야 하는데 아직까지 그런 노력이 부족하다. 본고는 교과서에 나타난 이러한 문제점을 지적하고 시정해야 할 방안을 제시한 것이다

This study was intended to help teachers to properly teach students in the school field by finding the error of contents and religiously- prejudiced parts among the Buddhism-related contents of moral/ ethical/ history/ philosophical textbooks of elementary, middle and high school, and to correct the problems of wrong textbooks in the 8th curriculum reorganization. The text must exactly introduce the latest established theory, and must not be slanted by keeping the religious equality. Especially, the text editor must not contain the intention of mission by showing the own religion in the textbook. Because the oriental thought includes the metaphysical problem, it is not easily to understand for general people. Because the doctrine of Buddhism is profound, it must be re-interpreted with the modern terminologies through a thorough understanding. But, such the effort is short up to now. This study points such the problems of textbook and presents the scheme to correct them.
