중⋅고등학교『도덕』교과서의 통일 및 북한 관련 내용 분석을 통한 통일 교육 개선 방향

A Direction of Improvement of Unification Education through Analyzing Unification- and North Korea-Related Contents in Middle and High School Moral Education Textbooks

본 연구는 현행 중⋅고등학교『도덕』교과서에서 통일 및 북한 관련 내용을 분석하여 통일교육의 개선 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 2장에서는 통일교육의 의미와 필요성, 통일교육에서 다루어져야 할 내용 영역들에 대해 소개하였다. 3장에서는 중⋅고등학교『도덕』교과서의 통일 관련 목표규정을 살펴보고, 통일 및 북한 관련 내용 체계 및 제재를 각 단원별로 분석하여 보다 강화되어야 할 내용 영역과 개선이 요구되는 내용에 대해 지적하였다. 4장에서는 북한의 도덕 관련 교과서에서 통일 및 남한 사회와 관련된 내용을 간략히 분석하여 남북한의 통일교육 목표와 내용 체계의 근본적인 상이성을 강조하고, 그와 같은 문제를 해결할 수 있는 통일교육에 대한 남북의 기본적인 합의가 필요함을 시사하였다. 5장에서는 3장에서 다루어진 제7차 중⋅고등학교『도덕』교과서의 통일교육 내용 영역의 문제점을 개선할 수 있는 대안을 검토하고, 통일 후 우리 사회의 혼란을 최소화하고 통일국가의 정치 이념 및 시민의식 확립의 기준이 될 수 있는 실질적인 학교통일교육과정안이 마련되어야 함을 강조하였다.

This study tries to present a direction of improvement of unification education by analyzing unification- and North Korea-related contents in the present middle and high school Moral Education textbooks. Chapter 2 introduces previous studies on the meanings and necessity of unification education, content areas required to be addressed in unification education. Chapter 3 takes a lookat unification-related objective rules in middle and high school Moral Education textbooks, and by analyzing each unit with respect to unification- and North Korea-related content systems and subject matters, it points out contents and content areas required to be strengthened and improved. Chapter 4 briefly analyzes those contents of North Korean Moral Education textbooks related to ‘features of South Korean society,’ ‘necessity and rightness of the Unification,’ ‘picture of the Unified Nation’ to emphasize the radical differences in objectives of unification education and content systems between South and North Korea, and suggests that it is necessary for South and North Korea to reach a fundamental agreement to unification education that can resolve the problem of such differences. Chapter 5 examines alternatives that may improve the problems with contents areas of unification education in the 7thmiddle and high school Moral Education textbooks dealt with in chapter 3, and emphasizes that we should minimize the possible societal disorder after the Unification, and provide a substantial curriculum for unification education in school, which can be a criterion of the establishment of the political ideology and citizenship in the Unified Nation.
