본 연구의 목적은 선행연구 결과를 중심으로 청년기 진로발달 과정에 영향을 미치는 다양한 변인들 가운데 진로의사결정 및 준비행동과 관련된 주요 인지적 변인들을 살펴보고자 하였다. 아울러 진로미결정 고등학생들의 진로발달을 도모하기 위한 진로상담 전략을 수립하는 데 있어서 진로발달의 사회인지적 이론(social cognitive theory)이 지니는 유용성을 고찰하고자 하였다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the major cognitive variables, which influence career development process for adolescents, which is career decision-making, self-identity, career decision-making efficacy, and career attribution style. In addition to this research is to find out the effect of social cognitive theory in building up the intervention strategy for helping career decision-making, career preparation behavior, after investigating the major research findings related to social cognitive theory in building up the intervention strategy for helping career decision-making, career preparation behavior, after investigating the major research findings related to social cognitive variables influence career indecisiveness of high school students. While existing various theories for career development are facing on criticism that they fail to explain career choice process and performance, the social-cognitive career which is emphasizing the influences of personal and social-environmental factors seems to be able to adequately account for the career development. The Social-Cognitive Theory provides useful frames to understand the way to have career interest, the process of career choice, and through which paths performance result affects on individual cognitive factors. The Social-Cognitive Theory helps to diagnose the client's career problems and find out the resolution. The career counseling for high school students should be the program that will be able to develop reasonable self-confidence of their ability, and provide various opportunities of learning experiences, and reinforce their achievement behaviors. So high school students can explore their careers and seek them more actively and positively. In this point career counseling strategy according to the social cognitive career theory helps career development based on self-control, self-recognition for clients. So it will be very useful to counsel for counselor to high school students who have to mak decision of their career.
