原文對照를 통해 본 『槿域書畵徵』의 誤謬考察

A study of errors shown on "Geunyeokseohwajing槿域書畵徵" through the comparison of original text

위창 오세창이 저술한 『槿域書畵徵』은 회화, 서예를 공부하는 학도들이 반드시 연구해야 할 필수적인 책이며, 한국서예사를 연구하는데 있어 가장 중요한 문헌 중의 하나이다. 특히 근 현대에 연구되어진 한국서예사는 이를 기반으로 이루어졌다고 해도 과언이 아닐 정도로 그 영향력과 기여도는 매우 크다. 그러나 『근역서화징』에 인용된 원문에 대한 검증은 이루어진 적이 없다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 따라서 본고에서는 『근역서화징』에 인용되어 있는 ｢東國金石評｣을 중심으로 원문 대조를 통해 『근역서화징』에 나타나고 있는 원문오류에 대해 크게 세부분으로 나누어 고찰해 본다. 이러한 연구를 통해 『근역서화징』에 나타난 원문 인용에 있어 커다란 오류와 문제점이 있음을 확인한 것은, 앞으로의 『근역서화징』 인용문들에 대한 검증의 일단을 제시한 것으로 미흡하나마 그 의의가 있다고 할 것이다.

The “Geunyeokseohwajing" written by Se Chang Oh is a book which is absolutely necessary for the students who are studying calligraphy and is one of the most important document in researching the history of Korean calligraphy. Especially, its influence and contribution is so great that it one can safely say that the history of Korean calligraphy research during modern times is based on this book. Moreover, we can safely say that there had been no inspection for original texts quoted in the “Geunyeokseohwajing". Therefore, I'd like to contemplate on original text errors shown on “Geunyeokseohwajing" through the comparison of documents focusing on “Donggukgeumseopyong" which is a citation in “Geunyeokseohwajing".
