The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of dyeing fingernails with natural balsams and processed balsam extracts. For the purpose, the researcher collected natural balsam flowers and leaves and purchased such extracts. Then the researcher dyed the fingernails of 30 nail shop customers, mid 20s to mid 50s, and analyzed dyed patterns. Results of the study are as follows‘ First, dyeing with natural balsams didn’t badly affected environment and fingernails.lt was nature-friendly. no- harmful to body and graceful in color tin t. But it needed much time and made skin around the nails deposited in balsam color, leaving fingertips dirt for 4 days. Second, dyeing with the extracts made he nails finely dyed in a short time. But it wasn't so sustainable that the nails got more stained and earlier discolored than when naturally dyed. Third, when finished in a short time, the natural dyeing using the resist dyeing method made resist dyeing better and provided a more elegant, natural feeling. But when in a long time, it made dyed patterns absorbed into skin and unclear in design. Fourth, resist dyeing with the extracts created apparent dyed patterns in a short time. But when with gel glue, the Buddhist cross(卍) pattern got more spreaded. Thus, more environment- fiendly processed balsam dyeing goods which create another added value for the beauty industry should be developed,
