A Desire on the Role of Real Estate Science for Lifelong Education

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES Recently, the environment of the earth has been changed extensively by human beings. Therefore, the desires and activities of mankind to pursue the highest and best activities under the changed environment have also increased. The emergence and prosperity of the education of real estate science are signs of growth in such activities. The education of real estate science is an educational area which emerged in parallel with the period in which the importance of lifelong education became recognized. In Korea, a recent quantitative growth of the education of real estate science has become evident. However, it is doubtful whether the recent education in real estate science in Korea has effectively carried out the function of lifelong education. (2) RESEARCH METHOD In this study, the proper function and role of the education of real estate science as a part of lifelong education have been examined. It has been presumed whether or not the rational roles of the education of real estate science are accomplished well by taking a general view on the realities of the education of real estate science. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS Compared to the past, the recent educations of real estate science in the domestic universities have not sufficiently fulfilled the function of lifelong education. Particularly, these phenomena are more serious among four-year universities than community colleges. 2. RESULTS In the future, in order to accomplish the functions of lifelong education properly, it will be necessary to substantially reorganize the curriculums of the education of real estate science. At the same time, tailored education with consideration of the ability of educatees will be required.
