『乙丙朝天錄』에 드러난 許筠의 모습과 작품 세계

During period of Jinju(陳奏) envoy : trace of Heogyun(許筠) and his works

1615년(광해군 7) 8월에서 이듬해 3월까지 허균은 진주사행에 나서 연경(북경)을 다녀왔다. 이 시기에 허균은 연행의 간난함과 무료함을 견디기 위해 한동안 절필했던 붓을 끄집어 시편 360여 편을 지어 『을병조천록』이라는 시집을 편찬했다. 진주사행 이후 허균은 역모 사건에 휘말려 파국의 길로 걸어가는 바람에 『을병조천록』은 마지막 창작 시집이 되었다. 『을병조천록』에는 지금까지 잘 알려지지 않았던 진주사행시기의 허균의 모습과 작품을 알아보는데 좋은 자료이다. 허균은 이번 사행의 주인공답게 명나라 조정으로부터 변무를 필히 관철 시켜야만 했기에 심한 심적 고통을 받았다. 허균은 평소 소갈증을 앓고 있었는데, 이번에 들어와서 여러 증상이 보이면서 병색이 더욱 짙어졌다. 머지않은 장래에 합병증이 나타날 가능성이 다분했다. 연경에 머물고 있을 동안 홀로 있는 시간이 많아지자 서정적인 자아반성의 회고시를 많이 지었다. 또 허균은 지식의 용광로답게 많은 서책들을 열독하여 이 세상의 모든지식을 가져와 자신의 것으로 만들고자 하는 지식욕이 더욱 강해졌다. 문학관에 있어서도 궁극적인 목적은 자신만의 독창적인 문학 세계를 창출하는 데에 있었다. 여러 대가들의 작품들을 두루 섭렵하는 것은 어디까지나 독창적인 문학 세계를 구축하는 한 방도였다.

From August of 1615(the 7th year of King Gwanghae光海君), to next March, Heogyun許筠 have been to Yanjing燕京(Beijing北京), as Jinju envoy. During this period, to make a living and while away the time, he wrote about 360 poems, and compiled a collection, named 『Eulbyeong jocheonrok乙丙朝天錄』, though he made the end of his writing career before. After trip as a Jinju envoy, being falsely accused of taking part in conspiracy, Heogyun was driven into catastrophe. So the 『Eulbyeong jocheonrok』 became his last creative works. 『Eulbyeong jocheonrok』 is valuable material, containing trace of Heogyun of his envoy days, and works, which haven't became known much. As Heogyun had to carry through his order against Ming dynasty, he suffered much stress. In ordinary days, he had a disease symptomized by thirst. But with this work, other symptoms appeared, aggravating his disease. There was much possibility for other complications might develop in the near future. When he was staying in Yanjing(Beijing), he had much time to stay alone and wrote reminiscent poems of self-reflection. Also, as he pored over many books, his thirst for knowledge became stronger. The final object in his literary field was in creating his own unique works. Reading through various books of many authorities, was his way to build his own literary world.
