의사소통장애 아동의 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 요인

Variables Related to Behavior Problems of Children with Communication Disorders

배경 및 목적: 본 연구는 아동의 언어적 기능과 사회성 기술 그리고 부모의 양육태도가 의사소통장애 아동의 문제행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 이론적 모형을 검증하며, 그 경로가 의사소통장애의 유형에 따라 차이가 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법: 연구 대상은 서울, 경기, 천안에있는 22개 상담센터에서 의사소통장애 진단을 받은 만 4세에서 만 7세 아동 201명(남아 132명, 여아 69명)과 그들의 부모 201쌍이었다. 부모 수용-거부 질문지, 취학 전 아동의 수용-표현 발달 척도, 한국 사회성 기술 검사, 한국판 아동․청소년 행동평가척도로 부모 양육태도,아동의 언어적 기능, 사회성 기술, 문제행동을 측정하였으며, 각 변인들 간의 이론적 모형을검증하고자 구조방정식 모형(Structural Equation Modeling: SEM)을 사용하였다. 결과: 첫째, 이론적 모형을 검증한 결과 그 경로는 외현화 문제행동과 내재화 문제행동에서 동일하였 으며, 수용-표현 장애, 음운 장애, 말더듬 집단 간 조절효과가 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지 양육태도는 아동의 문제행동에 직접적인 영향을 주는 동시에, 사회성 기술을 통해 문제행동에 간접적 영향을 주었다. 반면, 어머니의 양육태도는 문제행동에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으나, 사회성기술을 통한 간접적 영향은 없었다. 셋째, 아동의 언어적 기능은 사회성 기술을 통해 아동의문제행동에 영향을 주었다. 논의 및 결론: 의사소통장애 아동은 말-언어 문제 뿐 아니라 이와관련된 다양한 어려움을 겪을 수 있다. 의사소통장애 아동 중재 시, 언어적 기능 저하로 인한사회성 기술 부족 및 문제행동 발현에 관심을 가지며, 아버지와 어머니의 적극적 참여와 연결된 통합적인 프로그램을 제공하여야 할 것이다

Background & Objectives: The purpose of this study was two-fold. First, the study examined the effects of linguistic function and social skills in children with communication disorders and the effects of their parents’ child-rearing attitudes on their behavior problems. Second, the study attempted to determine whether these effects differed as a function of the subtype of the children’s communication disorder using the SEM path model. Methods: The study subjects were 132 boys and 69 girls, 201 children in total, with communication disorders and their parents. The children were between 4 and 7 years of age and were from the Seoul, Kyunggi, and Chun-an areas. To measure parenting ability, the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ) was used. The Preschool Receptive-Expressive Language Scale (PRES) was used to determine the children’s linguistic functions, and the Social Skill Rating System (SSRS) was used to assess the children’s social skills. The Parents Report Form of Korean Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL) was used to measure the children’s behavior problems, and the data were analyzed with a structural equation modeling analysis. Results: Whereas the paternal parenting attitude was shown to have direct and indirect effects on children’s behavior problems, the maternal attitude has only direct effects. Children’s linguistic functioning influences their behavior problems through their social functions. Based on these results, this study showed that there were differences in childhood linguistic function based on communication disorder type. Discussion & Conclusion: Children with communication disorders are likely to have numerous related problems. The social skills and behavior problems of these children should be of concern and an integral program should be provided
