노인 학습에서 영성(靈性)이 미치는 영향과 영성을 고려한 노인 교수법 탐구

The influence of spirituality on older adults learning and developing teaching methods for older adults by considering their spirituality

노인에게 삶과 죽음， 인생의 의미 ， 나와 다른 사람들과의 관계 등에 관한 물음의 답을 줄 수 있는 영성의 발달은 노인이 겪는 중요한 변화 중 하나이다 그러나 지금까지의 노인의 학습에 관한 연구는 노인의 신체적， 인지적 ， 발달적 관점에만 초점을 맞추 었을 뿐， 노인의 영성이 그들의 학습에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 부족 했다. 이에 본 연구는 문헌 분석을 통해서 노인의 학습에서 영성이 미치는 영향과 기존의 노인을 위한 교수법에서 영성 을 고려한 방법에는 어떤 것이 있는 지 살펴보고자 한다. 영성의 개념에 대한 모호성은 학습에서 영성이 차지하는 역할에 대한 연구를 불가능하게 하였다 이에 본 연구에서는 먼저 영성에 관한 학문적 정의를 내린다. 그리고영성의 학문적 정의를 바탕으로 노인의 영성발달과 관련된 연구 들을 살펴본다. 셋째로， 노인의학습과정에 영성이 구체적으로 어떠한 영향을 미칠 수 있을 지 McC1usky의 여유이론， Kno1wes의 앤드라고지， Mezirow의 관점전환학습을 중심으로 살펴본다. 마지막으로， 기존의 노인 교수법인 강의법， 토의법， 회상， 현장수업 방법에서 노인 학습자의 영성을 고려하는 방법을 제안한다

This study examined the influence of spirituality on older adult learning and education in the Korean context. With aging, people experience difficulties related to changes in their body and cognition. These experience may lead spiritual development among older adults. The author indicated that the lack of definition of spirituality was the main reason for the need of studies examining spiritual issues in older adult education although spiritual development is one of the key characteristics of older adults. This study defined spirituality as the awareness of connectedness with self, others, nature, and the divine and the ability of controlling one s life to actualize this connectedness. Then, this study reviewed spiritual development of older adults and how spirituality influences older adults learning processes. Last, this article suggested the way of considering spirituality for teachers for older adults who use common teaching methods such as lecture, discussion, reminiscence, and field trip.
