컨테이너항만의 경쟁력 측정방법

A Measurement Way of Competition Power of Container Port : DEA and Fuzzy Method Approach

The purpose of this paper is to show the measurement way for the international competition power between Korean ports and Chinese ports according to the port efficiency scores of DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) by newly introducing the MDMG-HFP(Multiple Decision Making Group-Hierarchical Fuzzy Process) to the DEA method. Empirical analysis shows the followings: First, there were no changes of ports rankings according to efficiency scores between DEA model and MDMG-HFP model. Ranking order is the ports of Shanghai, Busan, Kaosung, Qingdao, Tienjin, Dalian, and Gwangyang. Second, the same ranking orders are shown in the one model which includes all elements of MDMG-HFP as inputs after reflecting the integral calculus value, and cargo throughputs as output, and the other model which introduces the weight of 10% to the inputs and outputs. The main policy implication based on the findings of this study is that The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs in Korea and China should introduce Fuzzy and DEA approaches when the international competition power by using the port efficiency scores of DEA is measured.
