A Study on the Determinant of FDI in China

일반적으로 외국인 직접투자는 투자유치국의 국민소득, 생산, 가격수준, 고용, 경제성장등 제 경제변수에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 특히 1980년대 이후 중국의 경제성장에서 외국인직접 투자는 중국의 경제성장에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구에서는 중국의 주요투자국인 미국, EU, 일본과 한국의 자료를 사용하여 이 국가들의 직접투자가 중국경제 성장에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는가에 대해서 살펴보았다. 연구결과 중국의 외국인투자는 중국이 시장경제로 이행하는데 필수적인 정책개혁과 제도의 정비과정과 밀접한 관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 시장확대가 외국인 투자의 주요요인임을 밝혔으며 투자국의 주요투자요인에 대해서 다중회귀모형을 이용하여 자세히 규명하였다.

In this paper, we based the data from 1982-2006 to examine the determinants of EU, US, and Korea and Japan's FDI flows Into China. The results ind"ate that the dynamic of FDI evolution IS closely associated With the process of legal modernization and policy reform that are reqUired to move toward a market-oriented host country. By uSing the method of multiple regressions, this paper has espeCially found that the extent of market opening is the main determinant. This paper shows the distinctions of FDI from different sources.
