A study on metal design by using structural combination of board - with interior accessory as central figure -

Moderns come to have individual and various desire by qualitative improvement of the standard of living according to development of industrial society and share of information. Especially, in living of moderns, living of the interior of a room increases more than natural outside environment, and interest of human on space where they spend long time instinctively increase. Interest in interior decoration derives design development of various interior accessory which can increase quality of environment. Interior accessory emphasizes point in the whole space, gives unified atmosphere and artistic grace, and increases dramatic effect with individuality expression and aesthetics sufficiency. It is very important to develop accessory design that can express rational change of dwelling space and individuality, and gives visual enjoyment, and it also takes large part. Thereupon, I came to recognize necessity for development of interior accessory design that has molding quality to influence on formation of interior space as well as have close function with living. I, Researcher intends to produce surrounding space individually by having form of vessel that is one of materials to be able friendly to meet in daily life as material, and illustrate sensitive research to be able to enjoy consensus with audience. In this research, I made mutual interest and amusement felt by arousing audience to think "what do they put?" in meaning of "putting something" that vessel has in design of interior accessory. Generally, we find out new form by modifying and applying form according fixed function of vessel, but sometimes, form originated from research that puts its object on pure form suggests new functional possibility to audience or user. In expression form of vessel, researcher systematically combined among boards. forms made by combining boards constituted transparent structure and cubic effect, and had space between opening gaps. This potential energy of space spread to all things, and accomplished the harmonious whole by getting joined interior space together. Researcher intended to make audience feel space and cubic effect between surfaces by giving change between them as well as expressing one lump by gathering repeated surfaces together. Researcher made cubic effect felt more by constituting and arranging widely for wide place, and narrowly for narrow place among repeated surfaces. Also, production of shadow reflected to the ground by light functioned as element that represented open space made by combining surfaces. Subject and constitution of work was classified by 8 themes, and by reinterpreting forms derived from vessel in standpoint of researcher, researcher groped modification possibility of it as interior accessory such as interior molding, illumination, candlestand, table, and etc. The way pursued to this work intends to offer visual information that can invest user or audience with new analysis possibility for ordinary material called as vessel as well as initially emphasize structure inside form through repetition of line and surface, and change through form research originated from vessel structure in pure sphere.
