1970~80년대 국내 주얼리 제품의 디자인 유형 분석

It is true that the design aspect of jewelry industry as one of the new knowledge-based industries has received little active support despite the importance during the rapid modernization and industrialization. That might have been because of the social environment that set economic growth as the prime objective to attain stability during the few decades immediately after the Korean War. The center of the values in a modern society has changed from economy to culture, which means people has started to look to pursue values inherent in human instincts naturally recovered after achieving the basis for stability. The jewelry industry experiencing rapid growths has just stopped such rapid growths due to factors such as worldwide economic stagnation and the rise in gold prices, and look for opportunities to make another leap. This study is based on the assumption that this can be the right opportunity to gain advances for the jewelry industry by making another leap through design. To achieve such goals, it is noted that it is necessary to identify the design trends of various periods characteristic in the situations and times that saw the modernization of domestic jewelry industry to help the jewelry industry to identify and develop the designs that are based more on our own culture as well as understand the history of jewelry. This study aims to draw the differences of design between 1970s when the jewelry industry entered domestic scenes and 1980s that saw the initial growths by identifying the special features, elements, and impacts of each era through data collection, and differentiating and comparing the characteristics of produced designs during the changing processes according to criteria such as forms, techniques, and materials. That could be the works to help to identify the true forms of future-oriented designs in jewelry, and to help to provide more appropriate solutions to cope with the reality in which copying well-known foreign product designs is still widely engaged.
