This thesis is about finding the way of interpretations and the viewpoints of metal crafts' visual languages. The author examines what visual language is proper to produce creative metal crafts, and he suggests detailed studies and a sample survey as an essential process for the purpose. In order to interpret the way of mixing raw materials in the metal crafts, the author feels the inevitability to categorize the clues which were used to construe metal crafts. Especially, by a close look to the alloy that was altered by metalwork, this thesis proves the existence of the characteristics of raw materials in the alloy before the metal-crafting process. Another purpose of this study is to understand symbols in the visual language of the metal craft by examining the materials which were symbolized in the bible and mythologies.
