A Study on Scarf Design utilizing Nuno felt Technique

In the industrial structure of the 21st Century in which knowledge and sentiment becomes an important topic, the textile and fashion industry has grown as a living culture industry which makes the content of life more rich and abundant as a field representing sentiments. In recent times, even the demand of customers has become unique, diversified, and high class from the existing class, thus, development of new materials breaking away and qualitative improvement of design. In other words, today's design demands a sentimental and free expression according to the taste of each individual customer, and is diversifying and becoming rich through grafting new processing technology to existing technique of weaving, knitting, dyeing, and textile printing which suits the material characteristic of textile. Based on this trend, I, the researcher, tried expressing new texture with Nuno-felt processing technique through combining wool with other materials, and have tried to meet the expectation of customers aiming for individualization and quality enhancement by designing various scarves. Furthermore, I intend to provide the basic data for the development of a competitive high value added material in the textile market at home and abroad through experimental review of production technique of various textiles and felts for production of Nuno-felt.
