A Research on Art Information Standard System of Art Museum

Works of art and craft are nonlinguistic representations in nature. The purpose of analysis of art information is to produce organized information of subjects through iconological interpretation and bibliographical tools that connect art works and linguistic system. It is also an object of such analysis to confirm information about when, where, by whom, how and why the work is produced. The major objective of art information system is to provide relevant information on cultural and environmental legacies and to optimize the control and the utilization of collections. This study analyzes cases of information system building and current status of art thesaurus in foreign countries, which is essential to build information system in museums and galleries. I diagnose domestic status of art information based on the analysis.
