The historical position and meaning of ceramic in Sangju area of Cho-sun dynasty

The former of Cho-sun dynasty is very critical period in case of studying the history of ceramic since many kinds of ceramics such as celadon, grayish-blue-powdered celadon, white porcelain, majestic white porcelain were produced, and 『Sejong authentic record』 「Geographic book」was published. Also, this dynasty, based on Sung Confucianism, is assumed that Sangju area was one of the areas that had a geographical traffic route which was connected to Nak-dong river → Wai-gwan → Busan in south and Soback mountain range(Mun kyung) → Land road movement → Namhan river → Hanyang(Seoul) in north. Some books such as『Taejong authentic record』․『Sejong authentic record』「Geographic book」․『Kyungsang province geographic book』․『Kyungsang province sok chan geographic book』are historical materials of Sangju's ceramic production. There have been 76 founded important places since many places were founded in the post period. Seven important places of grayish-blue-powdered celadon․two of grayish-blue-powdered celadon+white porcelain․two of earthenware․one of earthenware+pottery+white porcelain․one of earthenware․grayish-blue-powdered celadon․two of wayo․five of pottery․six of arthenware+wa+pottery+grayish-blue-powdered celadon+white porcelain․forty seven of white porcelain were founded among these places.
