배경 및 목적: 본 연구는 한국 아동 및 성인의 수용어휘 및 표현어휘 능력을 측정할 수 있는 검사도구를 개발하고 그 신뢰도를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 우리말에 대한 사전문헌연구와 문항분석을 실시하여 검사문항을 개발하고, 1차에서 3차에 걸쳐 총 6,800여 명의피험자를 대상으로 전국단위로 표준화를 실시하여 검사도구를 개발하였으며, 검사의 신뢰도추정은 검사실시의 안정성을 검증하기 위한 재검사 신뢰도와 검사문항의 내적 일관성을 검증하기 위한 반분검사 신뢰도로 분석하였다. 결과: 수용ㆍ표현 어휘력 검사는 수용어휘력검사와표현어휘력검사 각각 총 188개씩의 검사문항을 갖춘 표준화된 검사도구로 개발되었으며, 신뢰도 추정결과 수용언휘력검사 및 표현어휘력검사의 재검사 신뢰도가 각각 .823과 .855로 비교적 높게 산출되었으며, 반분검사 신뢰도 지수는 각각 .884와 .940으로 상당히 높게 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 수용ㆍ표현 어휘력 검사가 우리말 문헌연구에 기초하여 전국의대규모 피험자를 대상으로 심도있게 개발되었으며, 검사의 신뢰성이 입증되어 표준화를 위한필수요소를 갖춘 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 연령에 따라 다른 검사도구를 사용해야 했고, 수용어휘력과 표현어휘력을 다른 검사도구를 통하여 측정해야 했던 기존의 제한점을 극복함으로써 언어발달연구 및 언어치료 임상현장에서 그 활용도를 높이게 되었다는 데 그 의의가 있겠다

Background & Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the content and reliability of the REVT. Methods: The REVT was developed to assess receptive and expressive vocabulary abilities from infants to adults. Items were developed based on Korean vocabulary and language development literature, as well as from two pilot studies. Approximately 6,800 total subjects participated in the pilot studies and the norm study. The REVT items were arranged based on difficulty level. The items were selected based on the level of correct response and discrimination. There were no differences in these items between genders. For reliability analyses, test-retest reliability and split-half reliability were examined. Results: The results of this study were as follows: (1) The REVT provided normative data to assess the receptive and expressive vocabulary abilities from infants to adults. (2) There was a significant relationship between the first test and the retest scores in both the receptive and the expressive vocabulary tests. (3) The correlation between the two tests separated by the split-half method also showed significant reliability. Discussion & Conclusion: The results showed that REVT was a reliable instrument to assess vocabulary abilities from infants to adults. For this reason, it could be useful in both clinical and educational fields
