Research on art and social change’s interrelatio -Modern identity of craft and social trauma-

Today, it is time to ask for Korean craftsman about craft’s modern identity. Sometimes it’s to be a art, sometimes to be a design. More correctly to speak, craft takes role of art and design’s function partly. So I may to question in condition that kept of border of fine arts, design, and craft as institutionally or structurally. Category of them sought for western thinking of modern society. Specially inflow of craft’s term is relation to modernization and westernization in Korea under colonial government of Japanese imperialism. So I propose to problem of craft’s identity so sociological aspect. Namely it is attended that craft is effected to social structure and economical condition. This article aims at such social approach about contemporary craft’s position.
