It was one of the most remarkable achievements of the Victorian Gothic Revival that the art of stained glass making was rediscovered and that a considerable number of windows were produced which can be compared in quality with the surviving medieval work . The glass of Morris and Company was the climax of this achievement It was through stained glass that Firm establi shed its early reputation in the 1860s. Although demand slackened therefter, but stained glass remained a significant element of the Firm's work, production and its continued right up until it’s dissolution in 1940. Morris wrote that the body of glass is of two kinds, frist is pot-metal and secondly is flashed glass. And he told about two kinds of painted glass known in modern times, Enamel and Mosaic glass, then explained the only method capable of producing stained glass which can plead some reason for its existence, is that which has been called mosaic glass. AIso, he thought that stained glass harmonize with buildings. Therefor, the custodians of buiIding should have some good plan of glazing embracing a system of subjects, an architectural arrangement, and a scheme of proportion of color and this plan should be carefully adhered to.
