Making of Manufacturing Techniques of Traditional Moksim jophy Lacquer wares

The art of Korean lacquering has a history of tho usan ds of years . The objec ts made by ancient Korean masters demonstrate their advanced skills and craftsmanship. However, there are few records remaining that describe how and by whom they were made. Conseq uently, the technique of lacquering has been lost. It is necessary to rediscover the forgotte n proce ss in order to make authentic Korean products that can be commercialized. In this study, we are aiming to rediscover, modernize and standar dize techn iques used by ancient masters. The techniques and procedure estab lished in this study will be applied to deve lop new produc ts that are more benefitable and useful for more practical applications.
