Study on the Nature of Paintings of Modern Dying in Korea

Dying, started from a primitive way of coloring. keeps developing with improvement of the human life. And it has been known as the art of dying since 1960 when there were lots of historical changes. On the basis of Abstract Expressionism Movement of the modem pantings in 19ED, today' s modem art of dying has been developing from 1960s through 1980s such as; the artistic restoration in 1960s when the optical art in Europe caused collapse of the meaning of dying, introduction of Object into the art of dying in 1970s influenced by Pop Art leading American world of artists, and in 1980s, not only new sense of value but various kinds of expressional techniques were introduced due to the advent of European Trans Avantgarde. The trends of Korean artists ' modem dying works which went through such a change of times were classified into 5 categories to analyze the nature of paingtings hidden in their works and look into the relationship between the internality of dying works and that of paintings at the same time. To conclude, modem dying art in Korea is in collusion with the main current of modem art showing the diverse forms and facts of express ion and is on the way to settle down as a new formative art in accordance with the express ions and forms of paintings as well.
