최근 환경문제가 사회적 이슈로 등장하면서 역물류 혹은 회수물류에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며 이러한 경향을 반영하여 이에 대한 다양한 연구가 수행되고 있다.본 연구에서는 국내외 저널에 출판된 역물류분야의 최근 연구경향을 분석하였다.국내의 경우 2001년부터 출간된 약 20여편의 논문을 분석하였고국제 연구경향을 파악하기 위해서 200여편이상의 국제 논문을 분류하고 검토하였다.전통적인 물류분야인재고관리,수송부분,창고입지 뿐만아니라 공급사슬관리 전략 및 고객 서비스분야 가치 창조 분야에 이르기 까지 다양한 분야의 주제를 망라하였다.국내 연구의 경우 다양한 분야의 연구가 고르게 수행되고 있었으나 외국 연구에 비하여 공급사슬전략 부분이 다소 미흡하였다.전체 가치사슬에서 경제적으로 또한사회적으로 역물류의 비중이 점차 중요해짐에 따라 보단 심화된 연구가 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

Recently, reverse logistics gets huge attention from industry as well as consumers due to the environmental issues associated with it. Reflecting this trend, academia has done many researches, specifically focusing on reverse logistics. This research analyses recent research trend in the field of reverse logistics by inspecting research papers published in international and Korean journals. As for Korean trend, we studied about 20 articles which have been published since 2001. Over 200 international papers were reviewed and categorized in order to identify the state-of-the-art research trend. The volume of papers is steadily increasing. Topics of the papers have been expanded from the traditional logistics fields such as inventory, transportation, and warehouse location into supply chain, strategy, customer services, value creation, and etc. Interests in intensive and extensive collaboration can be observed within recent trend. In case of Korean research, all the papers have been evenly distributed throughout various fields in reverse logistics. However reverse logistics from the perspective of SCM and strategy are relatively weak compared to the international trend. As reverse logistics become critical and essential part of total value chain in terms of economical and societal aspects, it is necessary to facilitate advanced researches in these fields such as SCM and its strategic value enhancements.
