A Study on the Changes of Ceramic Culture in Yeojoo Area

In Ycojoo area, cer amics production began in 14C at the end of Koryo Dynasty and at the beginning of Chosun Dynasty. In parti cular, as Kwangju branch of the Chosun royal ce ramics manufac turing fac to ry was c losed dow n aro und 1880, potte rs o f the Kwangju branch was scattered around the whole country, then some of them settled in Yeoj oo and began to prod uce the Chosun Ceramics. The ceramic industr y in Yeojoo was settled down as the important industry for the income of Ycojoo people, since 1970. The way to innovate the Yeojoo ceramics in the era of globalization is as foll ow: To attrac t touri st s with the developm ent of touri sm resou rces ; To prov ide opportunity for them to have contac t with ce ramic culture in Yeojoo; To make a growth in quality wi th the specialization of Yeojoo ce ramics and meet the needs of the tour ist s and consumers.
