Comparative study between Korean and Japanese wrapping cloths in Aspects of culture and lndustrial use

Comparative study between Korean and Japanese Clo thwrap pers in cultural and Industrial Aspects. The objectives of this study are to compare the charac teri st ics of Korean and Japanese cloth wrappers with respect to traditi on, structure, design meth od. and usage, and to draw practical implicati ons for the advanced deve lopment of modern cloth wrapper designs and it's industry. The results of compariso ns of two countries show that while Korean cloth wrapper industry anc! des ign developments have been fadi ng in last a few decades. Japan cloth wrapp er indus try is s till flo urishing by develop ing new desi gns consistently and usin g in various occasions such as cultura l events,.ritual, and shopping wrappers. For enhancing cloth wrapper usages and industry. this study proposes the development s of various demand seg ments. collaborati ve development among design related parties, raising interest in cloth wrapper culture, and participa tion in recycling and comovement. Finally this study provides six design developments of cloth wrappers in terms of usage situations.
