Today a furniture is something that adds convemence to human lives and needs to be beautiful. A furniture is made from various materia ls and composed of numerou s components whose respective roles are cruc ial in the completion of the handiwork called 'furniture' . As you see , each component has their value of existence in their ' functioning roles ' more than anything else. It is true th at we are at the s tage for metalli c craftsmen should be involved in the e ffort. The study aimed to add the functionalit y and ornamenta lity to a furniture by using met allic elements and sugges t a theoreti cal background and a formati ve frame for the use of met allic elements in th e con tempora ry furni ture design. while ana lyzing the kind and the type of the met allic materi als that are often used. th e ways of making the most of their use in the furniture design. also pointing to the problems by ana lyzing their funct ions and designs. and sugges ting a direction for the development of met allic handles.
