Application of ergonomics to coffee cup design

In ceramics design , word of "Ergonomics" has been frequently mentioned. However, pract ic al ergonomic approac h for ceramics ware design can hardly be found. Research about industrial ceramics design in Korea has been limited in an aesthetic expression of functions. Function of commonly used coffee cups were examined for this study. To enhance usability of cup. survey results. anthropometric data, and prior research were analyzed and applied to the basic designs of the Clip. To test stability and comfort of the cup in the use, different shapes of the handles were attached to the CLI pS at different locations. Then voting and electromyograph tests were performed for these cups.
