The plane interior design has been mainly raised and developed In the most of the tile industry in South Korea. However, the recent growth of a construction-molding material has ca used the high-class trend of it and increased the quantity of the imported goods and of the demand. which means we indeed need a countermeasure to restrain them from being imported and a new development of a interior/exterior tile. The purpose of this study is to deve lop a porous tile with an added function of insul ation besides the origi nal utility for molding, which is the main purpose of a genera l tile. For this study, we first performed a basic tile market survey, and then we analyzed and tested many kinds of compounded raw materials in addition to Whang-to. Additionally, the shape and structure of a porous solid tile was digitally designed , using computer technology . And the range of this study is to build a test product after the completion of the process of the modeling, plaster forming, shaping and plasticity. The expected effect is that the import substitution can be achie ved becau se of its raw material , Whang-to, which is abundant in South Korea. Therefore, the saving of the cost is also expected, considering the fact that raw material for general tile has been mostly domestic ones and imported clay. Moreover, the point that the use of an interior/exterior has been focused on the decoration can be supplemented, extend the range of the use including the function of insulation , and, hopefully, expect the merit of the reduction of the therm al effici ency and constructi on cost.
