인터넷을 이용한 공예품 유통활성화 방안

A Study on the Strategy for Internet Electronic Cornrnerce of Industrial Crafts

The twenty-first century is commonly predicted to be an age of culture. Accordingly, it will be difficult to increase the value of products merely through practicality and technical capacity, and only products infu sed deeply in the native culture of their land will have a competit ive edge in the global market. Culture means not only those elements that can be seen but also the spiritual legacy based on long hi stor y and tr aditi on, and soc ial movement s th at cha nge and develop to meet the requirements of a new age. The role of culture is to bring together the members of society in an emotional solidarity, be a veritable treasury of knowledge industry, and to create an image of its native co untry , co nse quently adve rtis ing th e co untry more effective ly than any for eign investment could. The Korean indust ri al craft satisfies these requirements and has potential enough to grow to become an artistic commodity, and further on an info-cultural indu stry. Korean craft ha shistorical qualities based on tradition, oral literature, and folk art expression. In the modern industrial society it is expanding to become a wide field of production and con sumption with both practicality and artistic quality. The ta sk before us now is to lead the global knowledge industry by developing products with cultural identity through cr eative de sign, production, and executing organizational support policies based on the con cerns of today' s society and con sen su s. That is, we must devise to activate indu strial craft, which can maximize added value, through futuristic strategy, and seek to exp and demand along with supply. Thu s, our top priority is to prepare a basis of growth for all aspe cts of information industry, and we must pursue gradual and efficient methods for the cultural products of Korea to dominate the global market. Th e purpose of this study is to ex amine the pre sent state and problems of Intern et commerce utili zati on by the Int ernet-u sin g cr aft indu stry , an indu st ry newly rai sing its head in accorda nce with th e global current of information revolution and globa liza tio n, with more emphas is on ex pa nsion of demand th an on the supply aspect; and to see k ways to utili ze Internet commerce as a strategic tool for the cr aft industry with the informational requirements that meet the needs of the new age .
