Koreans have accomplished and developed the glorious porcelain culture from the pest. Above all, Onggi is koreans' the most favorite kind of utensil which were continuously and commonly used within their food culture and the heart of them. The remarkable usage of Onggi mainly focuses on the storage and preservation of food. Noting that the feature of Korean food culture is the history of fermentative food, the relationship between Onggi and fermentative food is essential. However, our proud cultural heritage seems yo lose the standing where it used to be with the fast industrialization and modenization of the lifestyle. Therefore, by using the superiority of Onggi, I would like to work on developing the airtight Onggi with the modern style, so that we can have the food whenever we need, and keep it for a designated time with relative ease. besides, the use of basic ceramic material enables it to preserve the freshness of the food longer time period than its original could do. The true purpose of this study is contribution to the modern use of the traditional Onggi and industrialization. For this study, I will select and analyze the basic ceramic material. I will also compare and assay the difference of fermentative food in the genuine Onggi and the new type of Onggi. In addition, I'll do the survey rega rsing this product, set the new standard of the development with it, and notify you the way to use the basic ceramic.
