The aim of this study is to recon struct the Plasticity of traditional Punch'ong Ston eware patterns using computer graphics. For this purpose, I used computer graphic programs such as Adobe Illust rat or 8.0 , Photoshop 5.0, and Shade Personal PLUS R2 Pl'C , Especially, I focused on the express ion of the picturesqueness of Punch'ong Stoneware, apply ing not s imple imitativ e meth od s of express ion, but ecl ecti c and abstract methods of repr esentati on. The re sults are as follows: I . When compute r graphics is used in the reconstru cti on of the traditional pattern s, it e nables the desi gner to ac hieve a varie ty of visual express ions, as well as it makes the reconstructi on process more co nvenient than manual work. 2. It re vea ls that ec lec tic and abs trac t methods, not imitation meth ods in the reconstructi on of traditi onal por celain patterns, help the desi gner devel op expressi ons that comp ly with the contemporary trend and circumstances. From these results, it can be asserted that the designer should understand not only the spirit and sensibility reflected in traditional Korean patterns, but also the practical demand of the industrial soc ie ty. Therefore, the de signer should introduce and develop new methods of expression with the aid of computer graphics.
