Physical Education Centering on their Formative Evaluation in Japan

The formative evaluation process of how the results of the teaching-learning process would influence the children's affective state was examined and date were gathered for reconstructing the units. The subjects were second and third year elementary school children ; the teaching material was an exercise with apparatus, with the teaching aim of enhancing the effect of direction and height. Our findings are as follows : 1. Children's interest and will were enhanced in the teaching-learning process in the buck vault, in which it was intended to heighten the effect by having children focus on direction and height. 2. Since ⅓ of the third period for the task solution was devoted to exercise, evaluation of the results and interest/ will was lower but that of the learning method remained the same. 3. The result in the third period for self-solution fell short of our expectations, requiring that some measures be taken for improvement. 4. The changes in result evaluation are similar to those in interest/will, learning method, and cooperation evaluation.
