스크립트를 활용한 보완.대체의사소통 (AAC) 도구사용훈련이 비구어 정신지체아동의 의사소통기능에 미치는 효과

Ef fects of AAC Device Training Through Scripts on Communicative Functions of Children with Nonverbal Mental Retardation

본 연구는 스크립트를 활용한 보완·대체의사소통 도구사용훈련이 비구어 정신지체아동의 의사소통기능에 효과를 미치는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 그 결과, 모든 대상 아동들은 스크립트를 활용한 AAC 도구사용훈련을 통하여 의사소통기능이 향상되었고, 친숙하지 않은 스크립트 활동에서보다 친숙한 스크립트 활동에서 보다 높은 의사소통기능을 나타냈다. 또한, 친숙한 스크립트 활동을 제외하고 의사소통도구 유형의 차이가 의사소통기능 수행에 뚜렷한 차이를 찾을 수 없었으며, 모든 아동들에게 의사소통기능이 다양하게 나타났다. 결과적으로 볼 때, 스크립트를 활용한 보완·대체의사소통 도구사용훈련이 비구어 정신지체아동의 의사소통기능 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 나타났음을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of AAC device training through script s on communicative functions of children with nonverbal mental retardation. The subject s were four students with nonverbal mental retardation in a special school. This study used parallel treatment s design across subject s. An AAC device was offered without instruction for its use in the baseline condition. The training program was composed of instruction for learning the AAC symbols, and script -based pragmatic training by AAC use to do proper communicative functions. The conclusions drawn from this study were as follows: Fir st , all four subject s acquired the proper communicative functions through scripted-based AAC device training. Second, all of the subject s acquired the proper communicative functions in the known- script s more than in the unknown- script s. Third, except for known- scripts, there is little or no difference between AAC device types regarding their influence on acquisition of communicative functions. Fourth, various communicative functions of the children were increased by the AAC device training.
