중도 뇌성마비학생의 학교 수업에서의 문자의사소통판 활용

Use of Alphabet Communication Board During Reading In struction of Students with Severe Cerebral Palsy

본 연구에서는 중도 뇌성마비를 지닌 3명의 학생을 대상으로 수업내용에 맞게 재구성한 문자의사소통판 사용훈련을 실시함으로써 지금까지 초기 의사소통기능이나 일상활동속에서의 의사소통행동을 교수하던 보완·대체의사소통에 대한 연구와는 달리 학교수업상황에서 의사소통판을 이용하여 적절하게 수업에 참여할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 문자의사소통판의 어휘와 각 어휘의 사용방법을 촉진절차에 따라 교수하였으며, 이러한 문자의사소통판 사용훈련을 통하여 대상 학생 3명 모두 문자의사소통판을 사용하여 수업내용에 대해 질문하고, 교사의 질문에 대답하고, 자신의 의사를 표현하는 수업관련 의사소통행동이 증가하였다. 증가된 수업관련 의사소통행동은 다른 교사에 대해서도 일반화되었고, 문자의사소통판 사용훈련이 종결된 2주 후에도 대상 학생 3명 모두 문자의사소통판을 사용하여 수업내용에 대해 질문하고, 교사의 질문에 대답하고, 자신의 의사를 표현하는 수업관련 의사소통행동이 유지되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 초기의사소통교수에 치중했던 AAC 연구가 중도장애학생들의 학교수업시간에보다 의미있게 활용될 수 있다는 가능성을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of an alphabet communication board on communication behaviors related to academic activity in the context of reading instruction for student s with severe cerebral palsy. Using a multiple-probe baseline design across subjects, the frequencies of communication behaviors related to academic activity in a classroom were measured. The training consisted of instruction of the alphabet communication board usage and prompting participant s to use the communication board to show communication behaviors related to academic activity in the context of reading instruction in the classroom. The result s showed that, after the alphabet communication board training, the frequencies of communication behavior s related to academic activity in the classroom increased for all three student s who participated in this study. Also, their improved communication behavior s in the classroom were generalized to new adult s and were maintained during the follow-up period two weeks after the completion of the intervention. These results suggest that the alphabet communication board training appear s to be effective on the acquisition and maintenance of communication behaviors related to academic activity in the classroom and that the acquired behaviors can be generalized to new adults.
