Research On the Formative Nature of Chosun Small Dining Table

Korea has developed distinctive styles of wood furniture, which have strong characteristics influenced by regional life style and wood-type in specific areas. Among the dinstinctive furniture styles, the Chosun small dining table has a unique formative beauty according to regional characteristic and its usage; however, nowadays research and development on it have been disconnected due to our lack of appreciation for tradition and the passive attitude of professional training centers. Therefore, in this paper, after analyzing the regional and typal characteristics of the Chosun small dining table, we will develop and show a few newly-designed small dining table. Furthermore, these tables will provide the fundamentals to develop more well-designed small dining tables.
