This paper deals with serial verb repetition constructions and their various word order variants in Korean. The results of the discussion reveal that the underlying SOV hypothesis with a head-final structure cannot properly derive them but prove that the underlying SVO hypothesis with a head-initial structure together with the copy theory of movement can successfully derive them. Consequently, this paper strongly supports the copy theory of movement and helps maintain the universal Spec-head-complement, namely, SVO, order put forward in Kayne (1994). With the latter, head-parameter can be eliminated from the computation, thereby reducing computational complexity.
