A Study on the Analysis and Future Directions of Import and Export Customs Clearance for Computerization

This thesis examines the performance and improvement strategy of customs clearance for computerization and suggests the following results:First, improvement of the law will be required to render the Internet-based export and import documents legally binding. Furthermore, a variety of institutional actions will be necessary to assist concerned parties in gaining basic knowledge of the e-customs clearance system. Second, the reputation of Korea's e-customs clearance system should be improved by strengthening the international cooperative system between concerned parties including exporters and importers. Third, the substructure of the e-customs clearance system, which is the basis for the establishment of a global single window, should be developed into a modern and advanced system to secure stability and reliability for the systematic management of information resources.
